This product is custom compounded at 0.0125% estradiol per gram.
Estradiol vaginal cream is indicated in the treatment of moderate to severe symptoms of vulvar and vaginal atrophy due to low estrogen, symptoms of menopause including hot flashes, and to prevent osteoporosis.
Estradiol vaginal cream should not be used in women with any of the following conditions:
- Undiagnosed abnormal genital bleeding.
- Known, suspected, or history of cancer of the breast.
- Known or suspected estrogen-dependent neoplasia.
- Active DVT, PE or history of these conditions.
- Active arterial thromboembolic disease (for example, stroke, MI) or a history of these conditions.
- Known anaphylactic reaction or angioedema to estradiol vaginal cream 0.01%.
- Known liver dysfunction or disease.
- Known protein C, protein S, or antithrombin deficiency, or other known thrombophilic disorders.
- Known or suspected pregnancy
HRT medical guidelines for women with an intact uterus include estrogen plus progestin. Women who have had a hysterectomy may be prescribed estrogen alone. Only a doctor can prescribe these medications. Discuss your options with your physician. Women with a history of certain cancers may not be advised to undergo HRT with estrogen, progesterone or any other sex hormones.
